Configuring iPhone Email
To set up a "POP account " on the iPhone do the following:
1 . From the iPhone Home screen, tap "Settings".
2. Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars".
6. Fill in the first 3 fields with your name, email address and password.
7. Click "Save". The iphone will try to connect to the servers. You will probably get an "POP account verification failed" message. This is because the outgoing and incoming mail servers have not been set correctly. You should now be able to view the incoming mail server default fields. The "Port" field will not be in view yet. Below are examples of mail server settings for ATT business and Go Daddy email servers. Continue with the checklist to set the outgoing and incoming mail servers. Also click "Advanced" and ensure that the SSL is "ON" in both sections.
8. For the "Incoming Mail Server" section:
- If you have an "ATT business" email POP account, under "Host Name" write "fpostoffice.isp.att.net:995". The ":995" will automatically change the incoming port setting to 995 and display the port field, after the data is saved.
- If you have "Go Daddy" email POP account, under "Host Name" write "pop.secureserver.net". The default incoming port setting does not need to be changed.
- Under "User Name", write your complete email address.
- Input your "Password" in the field provided.
9. For the "Outgoing Mail Server" section:
- If you have an "ATT business" email POP account, under "Host Name" write "fmailhost.isp.att.net:465". The ":465" will automatically change the outgoing port setting to 465 and display the port field, after the data is saved.
- If you have "Go Daddy"email POP account, under "Host Name" write "smptout.secureserver.net". The default outgoing port setting does not need to be changed.
- Under "User Name", write your complete email address.
- Input your "Password" in the field provided.
10. Click "Save". The iphone will try to connect to the servers. You should not get an error message unless your settings are incorrect. Call us if you have a problem.
